Gamma Nu Alumnus Runs for PA State Representative

PJ Best, Winter 2004, is seeking election for state representative for the 118th District of Pennsylvania. He decided to run in January when he found out the other candidate was running unopposed.

Although Best is a “newcomer” compared to his opponent, he believes his background and experience working with issues affecting his district puts him ahead.

“When I was in high school, I became interested in public policy and decided to study it in college,” he said. “My father ran for school board, and I realized how much I enjoy hearing concerns from the community and trying to come up with real, workable solutions.”

Best also considers Phi Kappa Tau a big part of why and how he is running for election.

“Aside from my experience while I attended college, my experience working … on the Board of Governors has helped me greatly,” Best said. “I love being a Phi Tau, and I know that the organization will continue to produce great leaders.”

While Best plans to win, he said he will continue to work for the people no matter what happens.
