This past Monday night at a Student Government banquet, the SG President Ed Wolf presented Brother Gary Gasper with the Student Government President's Award. The award is given annually to a Faculty/Staff Member/Department who goes above and beyond the normal call of duty to provide support and guidance to the President of Student Government.

Gary won because not only has he been a great friend, but is always there to help solve some of the many problems that we face. He is a good person who always has students come before anything else, commented SG President Ed Wolf.

Past recipients have been Greg Ott from Facilities Management Services, and Information and Technology Services Desktop Operations.

Gary on winning the award: Needless to say I was stunned that they did that for me! I am still stunned that I won this as it is very cool and totally unexpected. It's been a great year...after winning the staff Council Award in October and now the SG award...I guess it goes to show you that our daily interactions with students really do count!

Gary has previously won the Dr. Edgar Ewing Brandon Award twice and the Phi Award from Phi Kappa Tau National, along with three other service awards from RIT including the Dancy Duffus Outstanding Citizenship Award which recognizes an individual that provides exceptional service to students and the University constituents, exhibits outstanding leadership qualities, and is a model of service to the RIT Community.

Congratulations to Gary!
